Paul,
    They are fine for light work and as long as you're not going to try 
to use them to mill out a 4 inch hole or some similar heavy work, they 
can do a lot along the lines of old engine repairs.  If you decide you 
are going to get one, contact me.  I have one that is new (less than an 
hour work done on it) that I've never used (a friend who moved traded it 
to me).
