[SEL] New Toyota's with old technology

We bought a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid a couple months ago and it definitely is 
different. The little gas motor in tandem with the electric motor develops 
an unbelievable amount of power to the wheels. The Atkinson engine alone is 
a pooch but gets really good mileage. I hope to see one of the Atkinson 
engines taken apart someday, hopefully not ours.

Wow, thats a really neat site Bill.  I just saw George's post about the
Escape Hybrid using the Atkinson.   I bet you're right, the first time a
mechanic tears into one of these he's probably thinking "what the heck....".
