The Ford Escape hybrid has used a 4 cylinder Atkinson cycle engine since
the Ford hybrid was introduced.

They build the Toyota Camry's here in KY about 100 miles from me.  I was
just reading about their new engine design for the Hybrid Camry model
and it said this:


The first half of the combined 187 horsepower (same output as the 2006
Camry V-6 3.0 liter) unit is a 147 horsepower, 2.4 litre four cylinder
Atkinson-cycle engine (a more efficient engine design)


Now if they'll just make it a hit and miss, we'll be set!
