I second your recommendation...I use irfanview to resize 99.9% of the
photos on my site.  It is great for the shows...Just upload to a folder on
my computer...Open one of the pics in irfanview, select batch
resize/rename option.  This process also allows me to copyright tag each
photo at a set location (I can choose where based on pixel location).  and
then let it crank away thru all of the photos.

I now take all photos at the highest res and resize/resample down for
theweb.  I keep the full size photos for further use if needed.  If making
a print, I use the full size photo...
