G'day Mates,

Here's another question for the Aussies about their beloved Australs and
the use thereof.

Patrick Livingstone has a couple of really neat Austral adverts on his
website.

On the first advert it talks about the various types of sensible folks who
use the Austral engine. Most are obvious, Farmers, Irrigators, Miners,
etc. But one of the listed jobs baffles me. In Oz, what are "Cyaniders"?

On the second advert it mentions how much work you can do with a "Tin of
Kerosene." I've also seen references in the manual to using metal cut
from a kerosene tin for various purposes.

How big was the typical kerosene tin? I'm guessing around five gallons.
Was this how kero was typically sold in Oz back in that day?
Do any of you have pics of original kerosene tins? It sounds like
something that would be a nice addition to Dave's Austral display info
board. Thanks!

See ya, Arnie
