[SEL] OT - anyone in or near Oroville, CA ?

I hate to do this again, gee, it's like talking about trucks or tractors at
an engine show - at least it ain't politics or religion.... but I've got to
make everyone feel good about a probable car deal.
I'm looking at buying a car from a fellow in Oroville, CA - Northern cali-
65 miles north of Sacramento, 2 hours from Reno (as he describes it)

I know the fellow from an online forum, and he's a fellow "AMCer". He's got
a 1981 Eagle SX/4 that I want, at least I believe I do. I've seen photos,
I've seen/heard it run via online video. He's told me most of what he can
about it. It's rough from the sun and heat, but supposedly CA cars don't get
rusty like Iowa cars, and that's what I'm after - a "rust-free" car.
I'll be paying through the nose to get it to Iowa, otherwise his asking
price for the car itself is fair for the condition.

Is there anyone in that neighborhood who would be willing to meet the fellow
and take a look at the car and "report back"?

I almost hate to ask as that means someone takes their own time, and spends
some gas driving over and gets very little in return. But I feel I should at
least make such an effort.
All I can offer is to cover their gas and a bit for their time, or do a
similar favor for an engine/tractor person if they need something looked at
in Iowa.
