I don't think he used straight oil I think it was some kinds of rust
preventative. I will check what it is on the weekend. I personally would
have preferred to see the engine nicely painted but it would have been a big
job after all the mechanical work done on this engine.

product called Breakaway which is a oil based rust breaker & preventor,
