Question: "What is the iron "box" on the back of the engine cart behind the 
water tank?"

I believe it's the muffler. The exhaust is piped all the way back to it and 
then into the vertical water cooling tank. The cooling water then falls into 
the undercarriage water tank. Dave will certainly speak up if I have it 
wrong.

Its exhaust is really quiet and a long day's work beside this engine would 
be quite tolerable compared to the bark that some engines emit.
