[SEL] Help with SC Mark J info

I've recently bought a Southern Cross Mark J pumper. I'm pretty sure it's the 
SC version based on the shape of the fuel intake casting, but I can't find a 
serial number anywhere. The magneto is a Lucas N1L.G, but I can't find a plate 
or serial number on the engine itself. Can anyone suggest where it might be?

I've also emailed Ian Mathews with these questions, but haven't had a reply as 
yet. Does anyone know if he's still running the Register?
