The Packard V8 engines from 1955 through 1958 used this design built into 
the heads, just a small hole from the plug chamber into the combustion 
chamber. This engine, 374 ci. was used in the Studebaker Golden Hawk after 
the merger between Studebaker and Packard, that,s about the same time that 
Dave bought stock in the new companay formed from this merger.
No doubt there were others, you know, holes in the heads.
