Thanks Brent, but I'm no poet.

Edward Farmer was the poet. He wrote "The Colliers Dying Child" in 1846, 
a real tear-jerker popular when such mawkish recitations were performed 
in Victorian (UK) parlours.

I am just the parody-ist.
