Yup, Arnie - Plowing. As a tractor guy I think I might put in a nickles
worth of input.
I am one of the few tractor guys that RUNS his 'engine with wheels' at
Portland. I have plowed every year we were able to and ran the buzz saw via
belt with my tractor all week last year!! (-; Great fun!!
With the new set up the tractors are out back by the new ground the club
bought so we can plow and maybe do other things one day. Also it is a
direct path to the race track for the tractor parade they have started to
have on Saturday. I would not even try to get to either the plow area or
the race tack on Friday or Saturday from the old area due to the crowds
walking in the roadways. The shaded area that was engine land is used only
by the 'feature 'tractors of the show. They could be moved out with the
rest of the tractors in my opinion. The club bought 50 acres out there I
think - plenty of room. The only part of the shaded area that maybe the
engine folks might not get back would be a section back by the new tractor
area that the saw mill could be set up in . That would give a little shade
to those that want to set and watch the mill in action.
At a 'perfect' show the engines that can't move need shade. The tractors
that can move ( at least those that have owners like me) need room to play.
Portland's only like 6 months away, I can't wait!!!! (-;
Maybe I should surprise every and bring an engine along with the tractor
this year??
