Edd,

What's a "railway sleeper"?  I can usually keep up pretty well with the
down under jargon, but "railway sleeper" is new to me and isn't
something I would think you'd cut with a motorized saw.

HMMM.I been scratchin something to stop itching.Guess I got it wrong.
There are a lot of these saws here in OZ and are still in regular use in
this area.Hargans and Mobilco are two that come to mind.Hargans  was
from a town north of here called Coolah.From memory there was an article
about him and his development of this saw in an old issue of TOMM.
Blokes around here that have cut railway sleepers use nothing else and
still do.They regularly come up  for sale at local auctions.I watched a
bloke at a show at Gilgandra a town north of here doing  wood sculpture
using one of these and it was amazing to watch .He was an absolute
artist.
