Ron:

Doesn't EVERYONE have an Eisemann coil tester???

What I'd do would be to make my own tester. A 6 Volt battery, a doorbell button and an auto condenser should do.

- Hook the negative battery lead to one of the coil primary leads.
- Hook the positive battery lead to one of the terminals of the doorbell button -and- one lead of the condenser.
- Hook the other doorbell button terminal to the other lead of the condenser -and- the other coil primary lead.
- Rig a piece of wire (or whatever) from the high-tension terminal of the coil and route it so it is spaced about an eighth of an inch from the negative battery lead.

Everything set? Now, tap the doorbell button. You should get a nice strong spark at the gap.

You could also test the Wico condenser with this rig by substituting the Wico condenser for the auto condenser and checking for spark.

Should work.........no guarantee.........

Take care - Elden
