Had similar problem in our 93 Honda getting and ended up having the dealer 
take apart the heat ducts to remove them.  Had this happen twice, car parked on 
carport.  Smell stayed for a while.  Kept asking how come, finally figuring 
out that that the source of food attracting mice was feeding the dog on the 
carport.  Removed the source of food and the mice have not come back.
