I -think- the serial number of mine is on a raised boss on top of the hopper.....but I could be wrong (CRS Syndrome).  One way you can get some idea of the age of your ZC-52 is by looking for casting dates which are (natch!) cast into several of the parts.  That'll get you close.

Most of the casting dates on mine are June 1954.
