I need to reseal a carb float and plan to use tank sealer. The float has not seen gas in 50 years so I know it is dry. Do I need to remove the old sealer from the float or will the new sealer adhere to it instead of attack it? I guess I could try a sample spot first. Also how many coats should I apply? John Hall
