Got married to Marg and we had two kids. (Daughter now 45and son,43.) Went to nightschool. got qualifications and got a job as anaircraft test engineer with British Aircraft Corp. A change of Govt in England saw my jobgoing down the tube so we sold up and came to Oz.in 1965. Spent the first 6years in Tasmania, where I raced speedway sidecars and Motocross. I started work as a fitter in Edgel's food cannery and then started my own business. Auto body repairs, building speedway bikes, machining, anything to make a living. The move to Newcastle. NSW. was taken as there was not much future for thekids
in Tas and I had the chance of getting into another business. (Didntwork out but, thats another story!)I then started working on motorcycles full time as they had always been a biglove in my life. Took up racing Enduros and had a full life until 1984 whenI was involved in a bad accident in the mountains near here. (A head on collisionwith a kid on an unregistered bike who was racing his mates and looking backto see how far ahead he was!!.) That left me with major damage to my left armand put me out of the workforce.I started playing with old engines just after this time and have had a lotof enjoyment from the hobby. I was involved with the Hunter Valleyengine club for a long time and held a few positions in the club.My interest has drifted away from the full size engines and towards buildingmodels of them. I have made around 130 so far. I still have 11 fullsize engines but they dont get out to shows too often these days. I also have agood collection of hot air stuff and a
good workshop to play in. I have beengetting over to the USA every few years to visit all the good friends thehobby and the list have given me.On things computer, I am a bit of a dummy and I have to admit that withoutKen Christison and Luke Tonneberger skills, I wouldnt have a website.Reg & Marg Ingold.Newcastle, NSW, Australia.randmingold at hotkey.net.auhttp://www.oldengine.org/members/randmingold_______________________________________________SEL mailing listSEL at lists.stationary-engine.comhttp://www.stationary-engine.com/mailman/listinfo/sel
