belt completely loose and it still taxes 
the starting of the engine pretty good.

Hi Rick,
I liked the belt tensioner also.

When I had my buzz saw, I kept the belt tight and
used the saw blade as inertia to get the engine started.
Rather than starting the engine then tightening the belt.
It seemed to work okay

But - A belt tensioner would work nicer.
