[SEL] Re: Solenoid engine enquiry

I built a solenoid motor for extra credit school project - that tells ya
how many years ago.
I wound the coil by hand, and used erector set metal parts for much of the
rest. That baby would really run great on one of those 1.5v phone
batteries like used to be available.
I think I still have the coil I wound laying around somewhere.

I'd saved some old car solenoids - the types used for opening the trunk,
or for the idle solenoid on the carb. Figured one day I'd make one out of
one of them and use 12v.

Guys (or gals, sorry) who have REAL talent could make one that actually
looks decent, too - machine some of the parts, etc. I just did the Red
Green thing - used whatever was laying around and made it work.
