R&M-
I am not involved in this in any way. I'm just a fella in New York who has followed this unfortunate piece of business. Don't tell me if you choose to not do so, but, how much money is actually involved in this sorry mess?
Thanks and best...

I received this from George Best yesterday. He said to go ahead and share
it. I am just disgusted beyond words! I have no legal action against him
but, I am told that the PO and the Justice dept are on to him. But, I still
dont see why he wont supply what I have, in good faith, paid for.

I had a funeral to go to in Eastern Oregon on Friday which meant I needed to
drive through Bend Oregon where Bromps lives.
We arrived in Bend on Thursday evening and I tried calling Bromps from our
motel room. Just got his answering machine and am sure they screen all
their calls and only speak to people they trust.
So we drove over to Bromps house. Found the house and rang the door bell as
we could see that someone was at home. His wife came to the door and asked
"who's there?". She opened the door after I told her who I was (I sure she
had no idea who I was) and said that Bob was gone for the evening. There
was a empty space in the driveway so I believed her and we left.
Next morning after breakfast we drove back over to Bromps place. It has
snowed during the night and when we got there, there was a bare spot in the
driveway where a car had been parked and tracks going away. So no point in
stopping and we headed on our trip to the funeral 130 miles away.
Friday evening we were back at Bend on our way home and stopped at Bromps
house again. This time there was another vehicle in the driveway so was
sure he was home.
Rang the bell and Bob answered the door!
Told him who I was and that I'd like to pick up the flywheels for Reg and
that I'd handle the shipping.
He basically told me, "You don't want to get involved in this."
He also told me that he has the flywheels, but can't release them even if he
wanted to, since there are various unspecified things currently in process
and until some things are resolved he couldn't do it.
He was pretty friendly with me, showed me his shop and several models he had
in process or almost completed and there were lots of casting laying around.
Didn't see 8 flywheels for Reg lined up, but I don't doubt that he probably
has them there as he had plenty of flywheel castings laying around.
At this point I think it basically is in the hands of the legal system.
Meaning, between Reg, Bob, and the authorities. I'm perfectly willing to
make a statement that Bromps owes Reg the 8 flywheels since I've talked to
him last November and yesterday and both times he didn't deny that Reg is
owed the flywheels, and in November had said he was shipping them soon.
(Hah!)
I don't know what Reg has done so far, but Reg obviously has gotten Bromps
attention although what he is doing about it I don't know.
As I said before, this has apparently reached the point where it will take a
legal decision against Bromps to force him to return money or deliver the
goods. He isn't going to hand them over to anyone at this point.
