Tommy's right, Rob, go with the Liver of Sulphur. That's the stuff used 
by artists to give a quick dark patina to copper alloys. If you want 
the green patina, you'll have to go a bit further. Exposure to ammonia 
fumes is one way. Google will turn up lots of pages on it.

BTW, if you really want to do yourself in with poison gas, acidifying 
that Liver of Sulphur to release H2S is a quick way to do it. That 
stuff really is silent but deadly.
