A while since I did it so I made sure of my facts before posting.

Running the latest version of Install Frontpage Extensions under CPanel 
on one of our duplicate sites produces exactly what you have seen.

Removing all the duplicate files/Frontpage Extensions is also simply a 
menu option under CPanel or running the appropriate script if you do not 
have CPanel installed.
