[SEL] OT - Website Search Engine

Our website has just passed 6000 viewable pages, and we are getting
folks asking about an index or search option so they can find items
quickly, rather than by working their way through the menu pages.

Looking at writing an index, we thought that it might be a long job,
so we have tried out a commercial product to see what sort of a job it
does.

It has created a 3.6mb data base file which we think is probably too
big and contains too many repetitive items, such as in the Magneto
pages where "Fairbanks Morse" comes up many times, but most people
would be happy with the basic pages references. So, we are going to
edit that file first before making a 'final' version.

The unedited version is working now, we haven't set a 'proper' page up
for it yet, but if anyone wants to have a play, the file is at:

http://www.oldengine.org/members/diesel/search.html

It takes a while to load up, but works well once you have it loaded.

It is certainly comprehensive, and we would appreciate any
feedback/comments, good or bad.
