Hi Steve,
I think John Burns uses Schedule 80 stainless steel pipe and tig welds a
small piece of stainless rod in the end to close it off.
I think nickel or monel tubing might have been used in the early days
before stainless steel.
I've also included the OFES on this reply as they would also have a lot of
experience on this topic.
