Could it be a kibbling mill? Like you use to make kibble (think dog /
horse pellet style food)
They use a roller to make the damp crushed ingredients into a long
tootsie roll shaped rod, This is then dried and broken up into pieces.

from called it he told me his dad got it new so any suggestions as to

Gotta ask as I ain't real smart, but what is a kibiling mill?
Thought it was like a grist mill, but only one roller.
Looks real good. Like the "original" looks more than the "refurfished"
look.
