Howdy all;
For those of you who have Universals. the below is a chat I'm having with
Robert Hess who apparently built the Universal Engine website. His email is
below parts at atomicfourengineservice.ca.
I'd start at the bottom in order to make heads or tails of this chat.
Hope it helps
RickinMt.

I can't be sure what model it is.... but the fact that it's got a DC
generator means it's probably very old, because according to my information
they switched to AC generators in 1924. On my web site I called it a Model
K, but I'm not really sure what model it is. 250 volts @ 16 amps means it's
a 4 KW generator (250 X 16), and my information doesn't mention that size.
I suggest you try contacting www.oldmarineengine.com for more information on
both the engine and the generator.

We don't know what model it is...maybe you could help us out there.
And it's a D.C. Generator....with no idea how to hook it up or excite it.
250VDC @ 16 amps.

Beautiful... thanks for the great photos.
Is it a model K? Does it have an AC or a DC generator?

Just thought ya might like to see the very nice "Barn Freshe"
Universal 4
lunger GenSet my friend Corky Harris and I picked up yesterday. It
was used
as a backup battery charger for an old silver mine.
Hope you enjoy and feel free to use any or all pictures on my
Webshots.
She's a real good runner and started on the fourth pull after sitting
in a
shop since 1950. Here's the pix's:
