[SEL] ZD bearings

hello all,, my son is rebuilding a ZD for a neighbor and has run into a problem,,, new crank bearings were ordered from hit and miss, but there is no way to prevent them from turning in the bores,,,,, it looks like the original bearings had a tab on the inside lip that meshed with a notch in the brearing cap to prevent them from spinning,,,,,has anyone run into this problem? and what was done to correct it ? i;m going to call Ed monday, but thought i mite get some ideas here too,,,, thanks in advance for any help.
