Hi Mike,
What you might be looking for is a "woven" packing that has a square cross
section.  It comes in different materials and can be impregnated with
lubricants.  It comes in different sizes, so you can get whatever fills up the
space in your pump.  McMaster-Carr has a selection if you want to order online.
