[SEL] Sorta O/T..gear making

One more gear comment.  A correctly made gear has rolling action with the
mating gear, there is no sliding or rubbing.   I suppose a gear could be
made with a variety of cutters and finished off with a file.  This kind of
gear would wear pretty bad which maybe is why you need a new one.
