Hi Jack,
 No, that is not the opinion of most folks here in the US. 
 If that subject is brought up at all, it's because that's about all you hear 
most major news reporters talking about. A lot of them talk more about what 
country is giving the most or least, than the disaster.
 A lot of banks, and grocery stores in our area have set up places to make 
donations to the disaster relief fund.
