We have acquired a decent low-voltage 300A DC supply, originally built by us for
our PCB manufacturing factory but they are closing down so we nabbed it :-))
Reading various articles (including Bill Dickerson's) on the subject of
electrolysis, I have a few questions:-
1) How does the current requirement change with surface area of the part being
cleaned? Linearly? Logarithmically?
2) How long does the solution last?
3) What disposal methods are used for spent solution?
4) Can the solution be topped up with more Soda or is it a one-shot process?
Tanks are not a problem, we have a number of plastic plating tanks being
disposed of, so I should be able to nab one of them. We disposed of over 300kg
of pure copper plating anodes today.....
So, we have power, we have a tank and we can get solution, we just need some
feedback from existing users to answer a few questions.
Thanks,
Peter
