[SEL] Governor for Chevy 350 engine?

Many older straight trucks had a governor that worked on the carb.
What a pain in the butt those were.
I worked on many a V8 with a governor on them. Pretty much all of them were
on heavy duty straight trucks, boom trucks, etc. I used to work on power
company trucks and delivery trucks, farm and coop trucks, etc.

The newer cruise controls can be adjusted as far as how sensitive they are.
Since they pick up the signal off the distributor they are faster acting
than the old ones. Most also have tap up-down so you can adjust them in fine
steps. About the only problem you might have is that many of them don't work
well a lower RPM. Mainly because of the fact that there is little rotating
mass (that could be corrected by adding a heavy flywheel in the drivetrain)
they hunt for the correct rpm.
