Hi Paul!
     There was a good section in an older series of books called "The
Foxfire Book", which was a publication
of a research project documenting old time "folk skills", lore, and such.
There are several volumes and they all
make fascinating reading. They were in paperback and came out in the 1970's.
cabin building, iron smelting to
gunsmithing and everything in between, processing wool, making a grist mill,
soapmaking, and tons more. You
will probably need to look for them in a used bookstore, as I do not think
they are in print any longer. I'll check
mine and see if I can tell you which one has the wheel article.
Best Regards;

Subject: [SEL] Need Info On Making Wagon Wheels for Cart

Can anyone point me to a good source for information on how to make wagon
wheels? I want to make a set for a cart I am going to build, I will need
them to be smaller that a standard wheel but capable of carrying the weight
of the engine?
