[SEL] More Maytag questions

The excellent advice from the list (even Arnie's) helped to safely get 
the flywheel loose on the Maytag twin.

I have two more questions:

1) The fuel tank is off. How do I get the brass fuel pick up tube out of 
the upper housing? The two set screws only seem to hold onto the air 
inlet tube.

2) After removing the flywheel and ignition plate there is a crankcase 
end plate with a large hex on it. Does this unscrew to get into the 
crankcase?
Is it RH or LH threads?
