True, Ghost can create an image file which may be used for backup, 
etc.  Ghost will also clone disks using the Local>Disk>To Disk 
command.  The source disk is copied to the destination per pages 33 and 34 
of the manual (2001 version).   The result is the same file structure on 
both disks.

Ghost also allows disk creation from an image file, partition duplication, 
partition image file creation, and partition creation from an image file.

Going back to Paul's original question and description, it may well be that 
he has a .gho image file.  He can still hook up the drive and see what 
Windows Explorer indicates is present.  If there are files other the .gho, 
it may be worth trying to open them.
