I think his first model was the Otto-Langen (atmospheric engine, an earlier engine than a compression engine).

After the problems Wayne Grenning experienced with his first model which I
cannot remember the name of but was a strange inverted model (many people had
problems getting it to run) that he decided to only sell completed models.  A
person told me once (read that as a Person told me once and not my thoughts)
that Wayne had told them that he didn't feel anyone but himself was skilled
enough to build his models.  Weather any of this is true is for you to decide.
